PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
 
Covid-19 Accommodation:  
The normal procedures for Travel Grants outlined in the bulleted points below have been amended due to the possibility of NASA Centers being closed to non-employees.
 
Travel is STRONGLY encouraged if a NASA center is open, but it is NOT REQUIRED.  Instead, the funds may be used to support a graduate student working in collaboration with a faculty member on a project​ of interest to a NASA researcher. 
  • Five Competitively Selected Travel Grant Awards selected by NASA Oklahoma EPSCoR Committee
  • Up to $3,000 award
  • If NASA centers open, funds for faculty may be used to spend up to three days and two nights visiting with NASA scientists to explore research collaborations and forge a direct partnership at NASA Centers and NASA Mission Directorates; funds may also be used for student researchers to travel 
  • Research must align with
  • Proposals Due: December 15, 2021
  • Awards Announced: December 21, 2021
  • Period of Performance: January 3, 2022 - July 29, 2022
  • Research Report Due:  August 12, 2022
REVIEW CRITERIA 
  • Research Proposed:
    Scientific and technical merit (25 points)
    Relevance to NASA (25 points)
    Relevance to Oklahoma (15 points) 
  • Budget and Justification (10 points) 
  • NASA Contact Letter - should reflect strong support for research collaboration from a NASA contact (25 points) 

    Total Score (100 points)

RESTRICTIONS
  • All travel must be domestic only.
  • Only proposals utilizing the provided linked forms will be reviewed
  • Permanent equipment and faculty salaries may not be included in the budget
  • IDC may NOT be charged
  • No Cost Share is required
PROPOSAL SUBMISSION
A single PDF document consisting of the following items should be submitted no later than close of business December 15, 2021, to madeline.baugher@okstate.edu 
  • A cover/application page: PDF
