OK NSF EPSCoR 2015 Annual State Conference

Thursday, December 3, 2015 - 7:30am - 5:00pm

Registration is Closed

Researchers from across the state will gather to highlight Oklahoma’s climate research efforts during the OK NSF EPSCoR Annual State Conference on Thursday, December 3, 2015.  The event will be held at the J.D. McCarty Center conference building, which is located at 2002 E. Robinson St., in Norman, Oklahoma.

Expanding on the EPSCoR State Conference’s goal of increasing collaboration and furthering research growth, EPSCoR researchers will partner with the highly esteemed Governor's Water Conference and Research Symposium on December 1-2, prior to the State Conference.  On December 2, from 3:30-5:00 p.m., EPSCoR will sponsor a session titled "Integrated Socio-Ecological Research on Water."  This partnership will allow a diverse group of researchers from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board, Oklahoma Water Resources Center, and Oklahoma NSF EPSCoR to come together, share research findings, and build important new relationships. (Water Conference registration is required for participation in all Dec. 1-2 sessions.)

After the close of the Governor's Water Conference and Research Symposium on December 2nd, EPSCoR will host a buffet dinner, to be followed by a guest speaker, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Embassy Suites. (EPSCoR State Conference registration is required to attend this dinner.)

The OK NSF EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Improvement Award No. IIA-1301789 (2013-2018), “Adapting Socio-Ecological Systems to Increased Climate Variability,” is a multi-institutional collaborative project that includes researchers from Oklahoma State University, Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, University of Oklahoma and University of Tulsa.  Researchers from these institutions are working together to significantly advance the understanding of how socio-ecological systems can adapt sustainably to increased climate variability caused by a changing climate.  Learn more about the research project.

Climate variability investigators from Oklahoma and nearby states, EPSCoR external advisory board members and program officers from federal granting agencies are invited to attend the event, which is hosted by Oklahoma EPSCoR, Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, and the National Science Foundation.

Registration for the OK NSF EPSCoR State Conference is free but required via the link below.  If a poster is to be presented at the event, the abstract must be submitted at the time of registration. The registration deadline is 7:00 a.m. November 23.  Access the agenda.
