GIS Day 2012 at University of Oklahoma

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 - 10:00am - 3:00pm

GIS Day 2012 will be held on Wednesday, November 14, at the National Weather Center in Norman.  The event will showcase geospatial technologies (remote sensing, global positioning systems and geographical information systems) and their applications. 

Participation is open to middle and high school students, college undergraduate and and graduate students, academic departments, research centers, private industry, NGOs, state and federal agencies, and the public.

Activities will include:

  • Student poster contest
  • Citizen science awards for geo-referenced field photos
  • Information displays
  • Image and map gallery
  • Technology exhibits and demonstrations

The event is sponsored by the OU Office of the Vice President for Research, OU College of Atmospheric and Geopraphic Sciences, OU Graduate College, Oklahoma Space Grant Consortium, Oklahoma NSF EPSCoR, NSF EPSCoR Track II project, and CSA.
