The Cimarron River Watershed Research and Extension Symposium, presented by Oklahoma NSF EPSCoR and the Oklahoma Water Resources Center, will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders from across the state, including academic researchers, locals, and Oklahoma State and Federal agency representatives. The goal of the symposium is to discuss current research and extension efforts in the Cimarron River Watershed and to develop a plan for future efforts based on the diverse needs of the various stakeholders in the region.

The symposium will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016, at the Wes Watkins Center (corner of Hall of Fame Blvd. and Washington St.) on the Oklahoma State University campus in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Check-in begins at 9:00 a.m.; the first session begins at 9:30 a.m. The event is scheduled to conclude at 4:00 p.m.

Symposium registration is free but required via the link at the bottom of this page. Registration closes Monday, Nov. 7, at noon.

More about the Event

Agency representatives and extension specialists will outline their Cimarron River Watershed activities during ten-minute oral presentations, while researchers will share their progress in the area during a poster session to be held during the event. A key focus of the symposium, the round-table discussion session, will allow symposium attendees to work together to outline future research and extension needs for the area, ranked by importance collectively by the group. The information, to be made available online after the event, will provide direction for future research and extension efforts in the Cimarron River Watershed.

In addition to supporting the research and extension efforts of this important watershed, the symposium aims to foster new, long-term collaborations and partnerships between academic researchers, state agencies, and locals that will enhance future research and programs.
