Evaluation

Why is EPSCoR Concerned with program evaluation?

The EPSCoR administration is interested in providing quality programs and research support to benefit Oklahoma ’s research community.  Oklahoma EPSCoR utilizes both External Advisory Boards (one for each theme area – Plant Virus Biodiversity and Ecology and Nanoscale Science and Engineering) and employs a Program Evaluator to ensure quality and accountability for the programs offered on the EPSCoR RII grant.  Also, the EPSCoR Directors work closely with the EPSCoR Committee, the Executive Committees for both theme areas, and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education to ensure efficient implementation of the RII grant.

External Advisory Boards

How are the EPSCoR External Advisory Boards (EABs) chosen?
The External Advisory Board (EAB) members are selected by the State EPSCoR Committee on recommendation of the Executive Committees (EC) for each scientific theme area.

What are the functions of the EABs?
The EPSCoR EABs provide oversight for each theme area through comprehensive reviews.  The EABs provide recommendations to the Executive Committees, the EPSCoR Project Director and the State EPSCoR Committee to suggest necessary programmatic changes to accomplish the goals and objectives of the RII grant.
