Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology Summer Undergrad Course

The Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology Summer Undergraduate Course is focused on bringing students from regional Oklahoma universities to the University of Oklahoma campus for a two-week intensive lecture and laboratory experience. Students are exposed to a multitude of research opportunities on the OU campus, at research sites, and other facilities across the state.

Sites and facilities that students may visit include the Norman Landfill Research Site, Kessler Farm Field Laboratory, the National Weather Center, Stephenson Research and Technology Center, and the Sam Noble Electron Microscopy facility.

Dr. Bradley Stevenson, University of Oklahoma Assistant Professor of Botany and Microbiology, heads the program, which is designed to immerse undergrads in a comprehensive research experience.  The program is geared toward sophomore and junior students from regional universities (SWOSU, NSU, CU, UCO, RSU, LU, NWOSU, SEOSU ECU, OCCC, RCC, CNC, and others).

Participants are accepted through an application process.  For more information on the program, contact Dr. Stevenson at Bradley.stevenson@ou.edu.
