The 2016 Workshop at MOISST: The Growing Science of Soil Moisture Sensing

Tuesday, May 17, 2016 - 8:30am - Wednesday, May 18, 2016 - 4:30pm

Workshop Location

Wes Watkins Center
Corner of Hall of Fame Blvd. & Washington St.
Oklahoma State University Campus, Stillwater, OK
Directions to the Wes Watkins Center

Workshop Audience

This workshop provides a unique opportunity for leaders in soil moisture research and development to come together in an interactive workshop format to exchange ideas and develop collaborations.  This will be the sixth consecutive year for the workshop, which is an initiative of the community of researchers involved in the Marena, Oklahoma, In Situ Sensor Testbed (MOISST).

Workshop Goals

  1. Provide a highly focused venue for presenting cutting-edge research and new concepts related to soil moisture monitoring
  2. Highlight new applications of soil moisture data and identify application-oriented research needs
  3. Stimulate new collaborative projects and proposals to advance soil moisture science and technology

Tentative Agenda Topics

  • New advances in soil moisture monitoring
  • Evaluation of remotely-sensed soil  moisture products
  • Innovative applications in soil moisture data
  • Integrating soil moisture information into precision agriculture
  • Student poster session

Registration Fee:  None, but please notify Tyson Ochsner that you will be attending

Workshop Sponsors:  Oklahoma NSF EPSCoR and the Oklahoma Water Resources Center
